The TDA2822 is a dual low-voltage audio power amplifier IC designed for small audio equipment. Its two channels can be used in stereo or in a bridge configuration, when the circuit follows the device datasheet.

Stereo and bridge modes
In stereo mode, each amplifier channel drives its own speaker. In bridge mode, the channels work together to drive one load as specified by the reference circuit. Use the wiring, load and supply conditions for the exact IC version; do not combine outputs based on a generic diagram.
Read the schematic before building
Check the package pinout and datasheet values for supply decoupling, input coupling, output coupling and any recommended stability components. Keep supply polarity correct, use short ground returns and match each speaker load to the circuit's ratings. Add a volume control at the input if needed rather than changing feedback components without calculation.
STMicroelectronics describes the TDA2822 as a dual power amplifier with stereo and bridge configurations. Refer to the TDA2822 datasheet for the original device and the current datasheet for the exact part suffix and package in your build.
First power-up
- Inspect IC orientation, capacitor polarity, solder joints and speaker wiring.
- Power the circuit from a regulated supply within the exact device limits, starting at a low audio level.
- Test each channel separately and check for abnormal heating, distortion or unexpected output voltage.
- Disconnect power before moving wires or changing components.
Scope: This is a compact low-voltage amplifier for small audio projects. Output power depends on the supply, load, layout and device version; the IC alone does not guarantee a particular wattage.
